About Us

Our Roots

Based in Mountain View High School, the Ignition Club (previously known as the IoT Club) was founded by two students long ago during their freshman year. Inspired by emerging technologies all over the Silicon Valley, the founders initially created the club to teach and develop various IoT technologies.

Ever since, the Ignition Club has evolved to be more focused around teaching computer science and competing in hackathons. It quickly attracted students from all over the school and has achieved many successes ranging from multiple first and second place prizes across professional hackathons to the club's personally hosted hackathon -- DojoHacks.

The high school club continues to compete and win prizes at various professional hackathons, while teaching its members various programming languages and methodologies ranging from beginner concepts like functions and variables to more advanced data structures and algorithms. The club attracts mentors from various leading companies in the technology field, including IBM, Amazon, Intel, and PubNub.

Ignition club is a great place to ignite your fire for computer science, programming, hackathons, and much more. Potential members are highly recommended to join regardless of their programming experience -- everyone is welcome!
